Domenica focuses on the human figure. Her work explores the physicality of material and her sculptures have a tactile presence which is complimented and enhanced by various mediums. Human expression and movement are at the core of her work and reveal her fascination with people and their interactions.
“As a sculptor, I aim to create work that is tactile. I am attracted to simple forms but also strive to provoke a deeper understanding of the subject through creating rhythms in the handling of each sculpture.”
Domenica’s time is divided between commissioned work and various series of sculpture inspired by daily life and travels abroad. After a classical training at an atelier in Florence, Domenica returned to the UK where she currently works from her South London studio. She accepts portrait bust commissions in plaster, bronze and stone.
